Welcome to my first blog.
I am so delighted that you have arrived to share some time with me here. Like
me, are you a seeker on your path, looking to learn more about how you can
improve the health and well being of your life and the lives of the animals you
love? I invite you to join me on my journey as I share some reflections here in
this blog about my passions that include animals, angels, healing and abundance
and some wide-ranging matters, metaphysical and otherwise, of the soul and
spirit and about issues of health for people and animals.
As a Reiki Master,
Tellington-TTouch® practitioner, animal communicator, angel energy lightworker,
intuitive oracle card reader, and alternative health consultant for people and
their pets, I feel blessed to be able to share my gifts to help both people and
animals feel better. And as a writer, I also feel blessed to have this sacred space
and place to share information with you. The website I currently have (www.donnapoler.com) is one that
emphasizes my work as a writer and public relations professional. I will be
revamping it to feature and include my work as a healer, my work with animals
as well as my intuitive work with both people and their pets.
I plan to be sharing
insights and information with you to help you on your path and to help improve
the quality of life for your pets as well. I have recently completed an e-book entitled
“100 Plus Tips for Maintaining a Happy and Healthy Dog.” Containing an array of
tips to help you with the health and behavior of your dog, my e-book will be
available for purchase in a few weeks.
The book is filled with
wonderful pictures of people and animals, and the energy they bring to it helps
infuse it with a positive glow. I thank each of them, both people and animals,
for allowing me to share with others so many pictures that have uplifted my spirits
and made me smile. The tips combine an array of information that I have
acquired on my journey with my 12-year-old English Springer Spaniel Socrates,
who is aptly named and has been such a wonderful teacher in my life.
I plan to share some of
the tips in my book with you in this blog. I see the book as a work-in-progress
as I continue to add more tips when the need arises and as I continue to learn
and share. So check back here for a sampling of tips from my e-book.
I also recently created
my first meditation for people and their pets and have had some very positive
responses from those who have listened to it. I’ll be putting an excerpt of it
on my blog before the end of the month. You will either be able to purchase a downloadable
MP3 version of it or a CD of it. It will be the first in a series of
meditations for people and their pets that I plan to do.
Meditation is fabulous
for both people and pets, going into states of deep relaxation together,
hand-to-paw and heart-to-heart. My dog is always by my side whenever I am in
meditation. Sometimes he gets the meditation’s message much better than I do.
We all have so much to learn from our animals. And animals love softly spoken
words and soft-sounding music. It relaxes their spirits as well. When they are
in a relaxed state, it is much easier for them to heal.
In future blog posts,
I’ll share about the different kinds of healing activities I am involved in and
about how they can help benefit you and your pets.
Because it is so cold in
so many parts of the country at this time, I’ll share this tip from my e-book
with you:
Think about buying a coat or warm sweater for your dog to have on hand if temperatures dip in the winter. There are also products that have cooling and heating beads in them that can be used in the winter to warm your dog and in the summer to cool your dog. There are also a number of canine boots for sale. Boots can help your dogs, especially senior dogs, walk more safely on snow and ice because they will have more traction. It can also keep their paws warm and safe from ice melting products.
Socrates models his warm leather and fleece winter coat.
And here is another tip: It is not a good idea to leave your dog in a car when the weather is warm or cold. Treat your dog as you would any valued and beloved member of your family. The same precautions that apply to leaving your dog in a car in warm weather also apply to winter months as well. In cold weather, a car can act as a refrigerator, holding in the cold and causing an animal to freeze to death. So never leave your pet alone in your car in warm or cold weather.
I look forward to sharing more tips, insights and
information with you in the days, weeks and months to come.

What a nice coat, Socrates. They surely look good on you. I bet you're ready to fight the winter, huh.
