There are several
places I always love to visit because I have fun and feel so good when I go
there. One of them is Peddler’s Village in
Even as I’m
driving on Route 202 S, making my way down the road where there are antique
shops and a winery, along with some pretty, well-landscaped housing developments and some big,
beautiful homes, my soul already begins to feel like it’s coming home. As
my car turns to make its way into one of several Peddler’s Village parking lots,
I always look forward to a fun day of dining and shopping and just enjoying the
sights and sounds of whatever is happening at the place.
They have
scarecrow contests for Halloween and gingerbread house-making contests for
Christmas. I once arrived there to find a dog show happening in one of the open
lawn spaces. Another time, during a Fourth of July celebration, there was a fireworks display. Recently there was an artist doing caricatures and vendors selling food in the square. Something fun is always going on at Peddler’s Village. And when you
look at the gorgeously landscaped areas, there is always a sense of peace and
beauty all around.
I like that
dogs can walk around there too, one of the few public shopping areas I know of where they are
welcome. Recently I saw two guys walking two beautiful Afghan
Hounds and another couple walking their handsome white Standard Poodle.
It is a welcoming place for both people and animals.
This past
weekend, despite some rain and overcast skies, I went to Peddler’s Village to meet
a friend and her husband to help celebrate her birthday. There are several
lovely restaurants in Peddler’s Village and one of them, a place called Hart’s
Tavern (www.peddlersvillage.com/dining/harts%20tavern.htm),
which is very casual, offers people a free birthday cake if you go there on your
birthday. Since it will soon be both my mother’s and my birthday, we celebrated
all three of our birthdays.
And our waiter, who is also a Leo, celebrated along
with us in our special Leo birthday club. We all made wishes and together we
blew out the four candles as my friend’s husband enlisted the help of customers
and waitresses to serenade us with the "Happy Birthday" song.
Upon
leaving the restaurant, I wanted to go to one of my favorite stores there, a
place called Journeys (www.journeysgifts.com), where they sell an array of spiritual items,
from books, candles, oracle card decks and jewelry to cards and wind chimes,
among a host of other assorted items, all of them wonderful. But alas, they
were already closed.
So instead I took some pictures that I’d like to share with you. I hope they make you smile and feel as good as I always do when I see the beauty all around me in Peddler’s Village (www.peddlersvillage.com).
Journeys was closed when I got there, but at least I got to do some window shopping. Isn't the store's window lovely? Photo by Donna Poler.

As you look around the center space of Peddler's Village, you are surrounded by lush green scenery. And in the middle of it all is a very pretty pond. Here are some of those scenes.

If ever you do take a trip to Peddler’s Village, I hope you have as good I time as I always do. There is truly something magical for me about Peddler’s Village. It’s just in the energy of the place.
Make sure when you go there that you remember to take in the beauty of the surroundings and also take a little time to savor some quiet moments if you can. And if you’re there later in the day, take a look to see how vivid the sky appears as the sun sets on the beauty of the Peddler’s Village landscape.

May you
have as lovely a time as I always do when I visit Peddler’s Village. And may
you find not only some good shopping there, but also some marvelous magic too.
